On July 27th, Jobs to Move America (JMA) and the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) will host an event with the DOL Women’s Bureau National Director Wendy Chun-Hoon in Birmingham to discuss the benefits for women of new and upcoming training programs at manufacturing plants in Alabama.

JMA and New Flyer, an electric bus manufacturer with a factory in Anniston, are partnering on a Community Benefits Agreement that will bring better jobs and benefits to the community by increasing hiring, training, and access to good jobs in American manufacturing for historically disadvantaged people. This includes women, people of color, veterans, and people who’ve been impacted by the justice system.

This groundbreaking agreement with New Flyer is the first Community Benefits Agreement in the South. We invite you to this event to learn how we can create agreements with other companies and transform the Alabama job market to one that works for families and individuals. We encourage you to also invite the members of your community who may be interested in entering a pre-apprenticeship or apprenticeship program.

The event will be held on July 27, 2022 from 3:00pm – 4:00pm at 210 Summit Pkwy, Birmingham, AL 35209. Register by filling out the form below. Share with members in your community.
