In 2017, the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LA Metro) committed to transitioning its entire bus fleet — over 2,200 buses — to zero emissions technology by 2030. This transition will help improve air quality, fight climate change, and advance equity. By mandating that Jobs to Move America’s signature good jobs policy, the U.S. Employment Plan, apply to all agency purchases of zero-emissions buses buses, LA Metro committed to creating good jobs.
LA Metro is on track to meet its commitment by 2030.
As part of the Los Angeles County Electric Bus and Truck Coalition, Jobs to Move America joined groups such as SouthBay 350, Environment CA, EarthJustice, IBEW Local 11, Food and Water Watch, and Sierra Club to push for this commitment.
