The country has convincingly spoken; and American democratic principles — the right to participate and vote — have won. Today, we celebrate the victory of President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Harris.

But winning an election is just a start: our nation remains divided. It will take hard work from all of us to finally make good on the promise of a country in which all people may thrive and prosper. Now is not the time to get complacent. The systems and policies that bolster systemic racial injustice, staggering inequality, a broken economy, and the climate crisis are deeply entrenched, and they can’t be undone overnight or in one election cycle. Now, more than ever, we will work to build expanded support and real people power behind smart progressive alternatives to business as usual.

The systems and policies that bolster systemic racial injustice, staggering inequality, a broken economy, and the climate crisis are deeply entrenched, and they can’t be undone overnight or in one election cycle.

For Jobs to Move America, this is truly a game-changing moment. We have a significant opportunity to advance our good jobs and equity policies at the national level. In coalition with our partners, we will advocate for rewriting the rules to make our economy work for working families and specifically, to put racial equity, good job creation, and climate action at the heart of public spending and infrastructure investment.

We have exciting news in store about our program. In the coming weeks, we will share more about our plans to organize with workers and communities across the country for good jobs and equity. Now is our time to put people power, workers, and racial justice at the core of our new government’s agenda.

We’ll see you on the frontlines as we work with workers, unions, advocacy partners, and communities across our country to restore the idea that everyone should share in the prosperity of our nation.
