Miranda Nelson is the National Director of Jobs to Move America. She was previously the NY/NJ Director at JMA. She has spent over a decade in the labor movement, working as a researcher and campaigner with the New York State Nurses Association, the New York Hotel Trades Council, and the United Food and Commercial Workers. She has developed innovative policies to help workers organize and improve their working conditions, and worked on comprehensive campaigns that brought hundreds of workers into unions.
Miranda has a master’s in Public and Urban Policy from the New School. Her thesis explored ways to capture real estate value to fund public transit in an equitable way. She received her bachelor’s in History from the University of Chicago.
