Aesha Mahmoud is a researcher on the California team at JMA. She received her Master’s in Political Science from CSU Long Beach where she researched housing policy and the lived experiences of rent-burdened communities in the aftermath of COVID-19 in Long Beach, CA. While having been born and raised in Cairo, Egypt, Southern California has been her home for several years and where she has been engaged in political organizing and campaigning for civic engagement, affordable housing, and environmental justice.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, taking her dogs on walks and adventures, and watching movies.
