This year is shaping up to be a big one. There’s a presidential election on the horizon, the labor movement is experiencing a nationwide resurgence, and the youth climate justice movement is leading the way to a climate-safe future.
To kick off this year in high gear, Jobs to Move America is excited to reveal our new website and visual identity, which will help us share resources and ideas, connect with our coalitions, and flip the script on the power of our public dollars to do public good.
If you’re reading this, you’re already on our new website, welcome! As you take a look around, here are some tips to help you get the most out of our new site.
Flip the script
Our public dollars are the backbone of our economy. But for the past two decades, special interest groups and conservative pundits have waged an all-out war on our public institutions and governments. The result? Corporations that seem to have more power than communities, and an economy that often puts profit over people. It doesn’t have to be this way. At Jobs to Move America, we believe that our public dollars are the most important tool in our fight to build a just, clean, and worker-centered economy. Our new website will help us flip the script on the power of our public dollars by showcasing the latest news and views about our work.
Check out the What’s New section for a blog with the latest updates on our work, the Pressroom for news clips, press releases, and media highlights, and the Our Approach section for insight into the principles, strategies, and practices that inform our work.
Knowledge is power
Sharing information and research about how our public dollars are used — and how they might be used better — is critical to our work.
Our new website includes a Resource library that brings together all of our rigorous research, policy tools, webinars, white papers, and fact sheets in one easy-to-use library. We’ll also showcase our partners’ research and resources — so if you have a publication to share with us, send it our way!
Organizing to win
We believe that working in coalition is the only way to make real, structural change. Right now, JMA is building strong coalitions in California, Illinois, New York, and New Jersey, and the American South to advocate for good jobs and equity policies, win community benefits agreements, and more. Stay up to date with our regional campaigns, as well as our national program, in the Our Work section of our website. You can also learn more about our partners and coalitions on the Who We Work With page.
