On Saturday, Sept. 10, Jobs to Move America hosted a brunch to share our vision for building power and democracy in the South.

Scott Douglas, Executive Director of Greater Birmingham Ministries, spoke about the history of Black worker organizing in Alabama and its ties to the present-day fight for economic justice and racial equality. JMA Deputy Director Erica Iheme discussed the new worker and civil rights movement that we’re growing in the Deep South—including our recent negotiation of the first Community Benefits Agreement in the history of Alabama—and the promise and possibilities we can realize through collective power.
