Sarah Arveson

Senior Researcher

Sarah is a Senior Researcher with Jobs to Move America and based in California. With eight years of experience in both earth science research and labor organizing, Sarah is excited to propel a just transition rooted in good jobs and socioeconomic justice. Before joining the JMA team, Sarah was a Lead Organizer with UAW 5810 and UAW 2865 where she helped to bargain industry-setting contracts for 48,000 workers at University of California and to organize the first post-doc strike and largest academic worker strike in the country. 

Sarah holds a PhD in earth and planetary science from Yale University and a Bachelor of Arts in applied mathematics and geophysics from University of California, Berkeley. In her doctoral and postdoctoral research, Sarah performed experiments on materials at high pressures and temperatures to understand the deep interior of planets.
