In 2018, LA Metro committed to implementing an agency-wide good jobs and equity policy, called a Manufacturing Careers Policy, to create good jobs and advance equity through the agency’s purchases of manufactured transit equipment. This policy applies our signature good jobs and equity policy to all of LA Metro’s railcar, bus, and manufactured equipment purchases above $100 million.
The policy is still in development, and is anticipated to support up to 22,000 U.S. jobs as LA Metro replaces its entire fleet.
