At Jobs to Move America, research has always been integral to how we advance our mission. It grounds our campaigns, informs our partnerships, and strengthens our ability to hold corporations and policymakers accountable. When combined with organizing and coalition-building, research provides the evidence and direction that makes our strategies effective, rigorous and rooted in justice and equity.

As we look toward the future at JMA, we are deepening the way we use research to drive change. Our research is grounded in rigor and accountability, and we uplift and center worker voices, lived experiences, and community insights to guide justice and equity framing to our research inquiry and questions.

In my two decades of working at the intersection of labor rights, corporate accountability, and global supply chains, I have seen how research can transform what feels impossible into what becomes inevitable. When combined with organizing, advocacy, and worker voice, research not only equips us to challenge exploitation and inequity, it also helps bridge divides, deepen alliance, and expand our vision of what justice can look like.

At JMA, we are laying the framework where research is used, not simply to study problems, but to shape solutions, shift power, and build an economy that works for all of us.

I look forward to sharing more of this work with you in the months ahead. For now, I hope you’ll continue to stay engaged and up to date with JMA’s efforts by reading our newsletters and sharing them with others in your network who are invested in building a more just and equitable economy.
