Paola Rodelas has over 10 years of communications experience in the labor movement and nonprofit sector.
Before joining JMA, Paola was a communications director at UNITE HERE Local 5. She built the union’s communications department from the ground up with a communications strategy centered on workers, training them to be leaders in their workplaces and community. She also started the union’s immigration program, working in coalition with local community groups and attorneys to help hundreds of immigrants apply for U.S. citizenship.
Paola graduated from the University of California, San Diego in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in Ethnic Studies and Art History. Her love for grassroots organizing around racial and economic justice began there, where protests arose against tuition hikes and racial violence.
Paola is also a competitive powerlifter, astrologer, and is ruled by one cat named Nef.
